The Royal Canadian Mint's bullion products universally embody innovation, ingenuity and excellence. Introduced in 1988, the Maple Leaf immediately set a new standard as the world's first 99.99% pure silver bullion coin.
The 2024 Silver Maple Leaf features the iconic maple leaf designed by Master Engraver Walter Ott in 1979. To this day, the design remains in use on all Maple Leaf bullion coins. Canada's national symbol is framed by the inscriptions 'CANADA', 'FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR' and '9999' on either side.
The obverse features a portrait of King Charles III, engraved by Steven Rosati. In keeping with an old British coinage tradition, in which each monarch faces in the opposite direction to their predecessor, King Charles III faces to the left, in contrast to the effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II, which faced to the right. The portrait is surrounded by the inscriptions 'CHARLES III', '5 DOLLARS' and '2024'.
All 2024 SML bullion coins include enhanced security features: radial lines, a micro-engraved maple leaf and BULLION DNA Anti-Counterfeiting Technology. They also include MINTSHIELD surface protection: the world’s first proven approach to reducing the occurrence of white spots discolorations on silver bullion coins.
The 2024 Silver Maple Leaf bears a face value of $5 (CAD) and contains 1 troy ounce of .9999 pure silver, the highest fineness and face value on the market for any comparable silver bullion coin.
The Royal Canadian Mint's silver Maple Leaf coin harmoniously combines security, aesthetics and investment value. An iconic coin to own for any investor or collector.
