Celebrate the heritage, principles, and aspirations of the United States with the elegant 2026 American Eagle gold coin.
First issued in 1986, the American Eagle gold series is struck exclusively from gold sourced within the United States and is officially recognized as legal tender by the U.S. government, making it one of the most trusted bullion programs in the world.
The obverse of the 2026 1 oz American Eagle gold coin highlights the iconic Lady Liberty, a design that has appeared on the series for more than thirty years. Originally created in 1905 by the renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens at the request of President Theodore Roosevelt, this powerful representation depicts Lady Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch aloft in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, while rays of sunlight illuminate the background. She is surrounded by 50 stars and the inscription "LIBERTY". The year "2026" appears in the lower right corner, while a miniature depiction of the United States Capitol is featured in the lower left.
The reverse presents a striking image of a majestic bald eagle, symbolizing strength and national pride. Surrounding the design are the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” (“Out of many, one”), “IN GOD WE TRUST”, along with the denomination “50 DOLLARS” and the specification “1 OZ. FINE GOLD”. The reverse design was created by artist Jennie Norris of the U.S. Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program and sculpted by medallic artist Renata Gordon.
Struck at the United States Mint’s West Point facility, the 2026 American Eagle contains one troy ounce of gold with a purity of 91.67% (22 karats), alloyed with copper and silver for enhanced durability.
A powerful symbol of American history, freedom, and unity, the 1 oz American Eagle gold coin is both a secure investment and a meaningful keepsake — making it an ideal gift for graduations, weddings, Mother’s or Father’s Day, or any milestone worth commemorating.
