Many Canadians and some number of Americans living in the most northeastern states know Sudbury, Ontario as the Nickel Capital of the World, with its 30-foot Big Nickel Monument and freestanding Inco Superstack, approximately the same height as the Empire State Building. What most probably do not know is that this part of the geologic Northern Shield had been “mined” for raw materials long before the arrival of western civilization. While copper and silver were discovered and exploited as of the building of the transcontinental railroad in 1883, tribes who found sustenance by hunting big game had done the same some 10,000 years ago. Not only did they make tools and weapons, but jewelry and ornaments that changed hands on trading routes.

As is the case in many other parts of the world, the story of silver and gold reaches back to early humanity. It may seem a stretch to link the activities of pre-historic peoples to modern civilization. It is not. We, like them, use these precious metals to adorn ourselves with their beauty, and we employ them as true representations of wealth and trading power, to an arguably greater degree than printed paper money. Please see our Publications section for clear statements on this subject.

A 1,000 oz. silver bar backed by the history behind Inco Ltd and the real wealth derived from the utility of this natural resource is a worthy, low premium asset in your investment portfolio. Feel free to speak now with a Goldbroker representative about the options.

ABOUT INCO LTD.

The International Nickel Company Ltd (Inco) was founded in New York in 1902 as a joint venture between American Nickel Works and two Canadian firms, following the discovery of copper and nickel deposits in Sudbury, Ontario. By 2006, Inco was the world’s second largest producer of nickel and the third largest extractor of platinum group metals outside South Africa and Russia. In that same year, it passed to Brazilian mining company CVRD in an all cash deal for $17 billion. Now known as Vale Canada Limited, its nickel mining and metals division is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario.
